Manipulation and intelligence
Wednesday, April 25th, 2007I saw it on TV:
Primates live in groups. Social living is competitive.
To survive, primates develop a social expertise: The ability to manipulate others within the social group.
This manipulation of others is called “intelligence”.
Greek literature contains many cunning figures. These figures turn unfavorable situations to their advantage by outwitting others. Their techniques are often unscrupulous, deceitful, and dishonest.
I read it in the newspaper:
“The Democratic Policy Committee held a hearing this afternoon to examine the Bush government’s manipulation of pre-war Iraq intelligence.”
